Hardworking Dad from Prahran Wins AU$1.6 Million in TattsLotto, Initially Misses Winning Call

A Prahran father in Melbourne, Victoria, was stunned to learn he had won AU$1.6 million in TattsLotto’s recent draw, one of four division one winning entries in the August 9, 2025, game.

The man purchased a 50-game QuickPick ticket through The Lott’s official website. When lottery officials called to notify him, he initially hung up, not believing the news. “Oh my goodness. Thank you for calling! Sorry, I didn’t answer at first,” he later said, recalling the moment with a laugh.

He described the win as “a good shock” and said the timing was perfect. The father plans to buy a new car, take a vacation, and set aside money for his children’s school fees.

The winning numbers for the draw were 45, 4, 10, 40, 41, and 14, with supplementary numbers 3 and 6. Besides the Victorian winner, three other division one prizes went to players in Queensland.

Saturday Lotto draws occur weekly, with odds of winning the division one prize at about 1 in 8.1 million.
