Virginia Woman Wins Lottery Twice in a Month, Including $150K Prize
A woman from Exmore, Virginia, is celebrating a remarkable streak of lottery luck after winning two prizes in just under a month. After initially scoring $5,000 from the Virginia Lottery in May, she recently landed a life-changing $150,000 prize playing the Virginia Cash Expander online instant game.
Overjoyed by her win, she immediately drove to her mother’s house to share the news—though her mother first thought it was a scam. Fortunately, the win was real and came through the Virginia Lottery’s official app.
“It was a good month!” the lucky player said. “My cheeks are hurting because I can’t stop smiling!”
The Virginia Cash Expander offers prizes up to $250,000, with odds of winning any prize at 1 in 4.7. The game is part of a broader selection of online instant games available through the Virginia Lottery, whose proceeds support K-12 education. Northampton County, where the winner lives, has received over $2.4 million in Lottery funding.
The winner has not yet shared plans for her newfound fortune.
